Jo’s text 28.4.09 - Information on texting him!

April 28th, 2009

Hi to u, I don’t mind getting texts, as long as they dont need a reply as thats the costly bit.

I’m at Zed’s & Anns fabulous house but won’t give co-ords or address. It’s quite spectacular and they have been marvelous, especially if you consider they arrived back from hols 5 minutes after I arrived!! Incredible weather again, windy but sunny. Plenty of storks around too.

There are problems with a visa so you might need to add in a week (to the itinerary) from Turkmenistan onward. I’ll know better tomorrow.

Moving tomorrow. Met nice couple in Bison Farm, she had world class legs!

Looking forward to trip north, although emails say problems with visas…

Haircut today. Now I look serious!

Hopefully weather will hold as I move north. I think here is OK but wouldn’t come again. Nice to see non-tourist bit tho xxx

The Adventure

Tea and signposts and storks

Can’t wait to wash me pants

April 27th, 2009

Staying at Zeds in a few days time, and all I can think about is how lovely my pants and towel are going to smell. My towel, since Luxembourg has smelt of the beef burgers I tried to cook in the camp site, since then you would think I’d dry myself and get hungry but no I feel a bit errggh over it now.

Dogs like me though, can’t lick me enough…it’s nice to have a friend wherever you go…even one that slobbers. ;)

The Adventure

Good Folk

April 27th, 2009

So a rush through Russia huh!

…and if I’m to get there for when the visa starts I have ten days to cross Latvia and Estonia.

Just as well really as from what I hear I might be better off blasting through these countries if I can. Latvia sounds lawless in particular, so maybe I shouldn’t dawdle too much, not unnecessarily anyhow.

The trip so far is going to plan but with tiny hiccups.

One aspect that could be better is me interacting with others. Being on my own means looking after me and all my stuff at once so going into town centres for a drink at night can be ill advised, also the campsites are always outside the centres. Alone single man in a bar always looks odd anyway!

Maybe as I get different accomodation some of this may change.

Generally I’m ok though, Ive met some good folk so far, no reason why it won’t continue.

The Adventure

David is loaded - they have banknotes with his face on them!!!

April 27th, 2009

I’ve worked out that perhaps Russia may be more difficult than I anticipated and I have only a months visa for it. While I also thought I could leave Russia at any point to come back to mainland Europe, this also proves not to be as easy as I once thought.

Northern Russia leaves an escape route to Sweden, But once in lower down it may be difficult. Ah well, the idea was to complete the journey anyway not to wimp out.

Could do with a good tyre lever though, these little things I have are next to useless. I might buy one.
All the bank notes here have David Thorpes face on them !!!

The Adventure

Fear of missing something

April 27th, 2009

In Poland with a fear that I’m going to miss something I should have seen or somewhere I should have been able to say I’ve been.

It’s odd really, but having thought this I also think that the cosmopolitan centres with Tescos, C&A, H&M - yes these are all here in more abundance that at home in some cases - can be missed. After all this is my trip and I don’t want to fill it with shopping centres and beautiful but shallow people (wouldn’t mind one sitting on my lap from time to time though).

So maybe my way is different, perhaps I didn’t see the astrological clock but I did see a friendly face when a man who wouldn’t ususally have had anything to say to me decided to give advice on where to stay.

They are all different roads, mine is different to yours and will always be that way.

So, not going into Krackow then since I’m already here in Bialto!

Going now to get a coffee and walk the square…and get a haircut!

Bye all

Been for a ride out today to the oldest pub in Poland. The journeys are great, but I don’t know how I’m going to remember them. I’m afraid I’ve forgotton so much detail already! It’s outstanding really but you must remember to look side ways sometimes too. Think I’m going to stay here until Tuesday morning then going to Zeds place.

Love to you all xxx

I feel so remote from all the gossip… What’s going on that I should know?????

Been to Auschwitz today. Dunno what to say really, except I have no idea how other humans can be so evil to each other. Having odd dreams at the moment. Last night I was in Star Trek! Hope to be in a different movie tonight…weather is great again, can you tell me forecast for 5 days from Krakow to Warsaw? xXxx

EDIT: Forecast sent by female Jo :)

Found the coolest place in the world to stay for a few days, you will never find it on google earth, I’ll send co-ordinates later. A single Amazonian dark haired chick runs it alone. I hope she takes advantage! She is like a tough, fit Charlie Dimmock with dark hair and combats!!!

You wouldn’t believe me if I told you, so look on Google earth! I’m in a forest of pine trees in a house the sleeps three, with no other rooms and a connection to Blair Witch that would  make you quiver with fear. The owners are fantastic fun and can’t do enough to please. I’m loving my new Amazonian friend AND her husband.

I doubt you can see the house its only 10/10 feet square under some trees, wait till you see the photos! Xxx

Night lovelies, I must take a picture through the woods at night for you xxxxxx
