Staying in the Ginger Monkey!
Tatra mountains, they are magnificent.
Guess what? Sebastian and David have turned up!
They are Swiss and good fun, met them in Vilnius.
Last night the Hostel folk Jim and Ohh cant spell her name right now, put on an excellent BBQ.
Good stuff all round and drinking games naturally!
Today will either be paintball or a very long walk in the mountains.

Nope, missed it again, found a campsite in Roznow, 100km SE of Krakow.
On first impression it was spectacular, the sun setting over the island, the bars open until you leave the beer 95p a half litre…aaaahhhhh.
The toilets smelly as reminiscent of builders bogs, and the shower 60p but it dribbled. So Ive not showered or washed for a short while.
Breathe in.
Smell me?
Yep thats me.
So the next day I made the trip into Krakow, nice enough but I think I prefer Vilnius but I did manage to do some shopping and see the square and the Castle and the bell tower.
The next day I awoke with spectacular thunder storms, the site under water quite literally and everyone moving tents to some kind of higher ground. by lunch all was calm again, so i went off and found some castles and stuff to do.
The most notable castle was Tropsztyn which has incredibly interesting history about the Inca tribes and their journey to Europe which was fraught with murder and hidden treasure stories…really is worth reading about although the castle is tiny and has been substantially rebuilt.
Great story though called ‘under the priests’ curse’
Fabulous sunset over the lake.

I&C had told me how lovely Lublin is so off i went. Got to the hostel which was full so thought Id go for a camp site on the edge of town, Bloody Polish signs competed with my incredibly crap map to frustrate the hell out of me until I had no longer any idea what I was doing or who I was!
so at the first sign of a hotel I pulled in and found…an old communist type holiday camp by the river in Kozienice, it was awful and the log cabin I got for the night was equally disgusting with showers that were straight from the cold war and with cold water - pretty appalling!
So that said I was as grumpy as hell and left the next day but had a grumpy conversation with big sis first!

Very old forest! On the first night I met with Inte and Christine who were very interesting and we had a great first night of ice breaking and beer.
Amazing to me was the 5 individual bachelors on the camp site yet I&C and I hooked up (Not in the Australian sense though!)…I’m just lucky I guess.
Both were landscape architects by their description and we watched an amazing thunderstorm unfurl in front of us, missing us and continuing to the West.
(Unfortunately for you lot I got pictures….of the sky!)
Then beer across the road. Next day we hiked through the jungle, erm forest, saw some big deer things called Wisnet and got eaten by mosquitoes.
The next day I got lost on a bike ride alone and came back after about 40km only to find Inte and C had left after me and done 60km and got back before me.
Its a horrid feeling to know your both old and knackered, even worse if you cant read a map either!
We all had a fabulous BBQ and the next day we went our separate ways.
Hi to Inte and Christine, thanks for your friendship and stay in touch!

This was spectacular to see but was a reconstruction of what the castle would have been. Dissappointed i didnt meet anyone though, its getting to be a habit this meeting folk lark!
Still pretty amazing though, one day was enough then shot down to the Polish prehistoric forests…
