This doesn’t mean its all over…

No no no no, I just meanĀ I need a re-think, I’m thinking either stay put and work here for a few weeks just for fun, or head up into Finland and see a bit of Lapland, although I’ve been checking on the web and Finland is very expensive to stay in for any duration, but also I could come down through Budapest, heading for the Crotia coast, Turkey and maybe Iran.

I still have open insurance and visas for Africa.

This doesnt mean it’s over, just maybe changing a little.

    Hello Sweetie :o)
I think it was always going to change…that’s half of the challenge really; going with the flow & what the journey presents to you.
With you all the way in my thoughts xxx

We know what you meant. Anyway you’ve gone so far so fast you should take a break and take stock of what’s next. Still loads more things to do and see. By the way your weather is going to be like ours, mixed, showery and about 16 degrees for the next few days.

Further North to the Arctic circle through Finland and Sweden, roads should be clear soon from Winter. Hotels and Hostels all the way and apparently some of the most unspoilt landscape in the World. Back down through Norway (Eurovision champions, party on) over the longest oversea bridge Copenhagen, Further South to Croatia and beyond, you’ve got time.

P.S. how do the Tallin girls compare to the Rigan’s

Hi Jo, You can now see how Napoleon and Hitler felt after their attempts to go touring in Russia! I think your intentions are a bit more honourable, although I understand St. Petes has got women worth going to prison for. Petty shakedowns like this are a fact of life, the general procedure is to keep smiling and act dumb (easy…), don’t get angry (more difficult), pay a small “fine” 10-20 euro, that’s what buying the cat was all about, and bugger off. If they let you go to a bankomat without an escort, then that means “bugger off” in Russian. Generally, if you’re not in handcuffs, it’s still a friendly negotiation. On the other hand why bother? I like your “go south” plan, you’ll get more excitement than you ever needed in the Balkans and the roads, food and company are much better!
Remember we are here if you need us, enjoy,

    Hi Jo
Sorry to hear about your bad experience in Russia. It’s easy for me to say but “don’t let the bastards grind you down”.
I only met you a couple of times but you struck me a the sort of person who does not give in easily & able to adapt to awkward situations. I look forward to following your progress.
    Regards
    Bernie
