Same place as last night. Bought a great new hat. Met a great couple and a little boy Philip, who do an organised treasure hunt via gps, very funny and good fun. Spent the day in Regensburg, hence the new cool Jo hat.

Move on tomorrow so speak to you all soon xxx

Don’t want you to be jealous, but I’m sitting by the Danube in my pants, with a cold beer and biscuits in 25 degrees and Shirley gets new bits on Friday. The road sparkles here but when I mentioned it at BMW he said he had never seen it. Apparently it’s fairy dust and only fairies can see it!!

Knew I was thpecial ;) Xxx

Today was heralded by a chaffinch with a loudhaler, middle age is realising juat how sensible sidestands are on pushbikes. I looked forward to seeing a woman who could feed 5000 with those tits and I thought about how ducks don’t sweat, no matter how fast they swim, remember this as its not an indication as to how fast the current is in the Danube.

If you want all this to make sense, buy my next book! By the way, I haven’t heard from Chris Evans yet, are you sure you are all bombarding him with emails???

Its so ugly here, what am I doing? Wish I was at work….hahahahaha! Only kidding! This place is incredible; on the 470 between Ebermannstadt and Pegnitz, this is Petes idea of heaven, fishing and biking and beer!! Xxx

Wow it’s hot here

April 14th, 2009

The weather has been fantastic, couldn’t hope for better. My whinging last night was pathetic! Although everything was soaked this morning.

I’m in Bamberg, very nice town, some of the older bits are reminiscent of a Venice without water.

You can tell the difference between East Germany and West Germany easily, even after all these years…

1) There is an air of everything being just that little more worn.

2) Prices are the same but the service and goods are just that little less polished.

3) The toilet roll is now Izle paper and scratches as opposed to the luxury that was West German. I assume the East Germans are hard arses!

Generally up till now everyone has been superb. Not even generally!! Everyone has been superb!

I’m becoming immune to old buildings and old towns but still go for a wander just to see, and often churches are the best places to cool down for half an hour. I recommend BamBerg, nice place to sit and be and wander.  Maybe only for 2-3 days though!

Gotta go, gotta move on before I stick in one spot too long, it’s getting much easier to set up now everywhere is open.

Speak soon, love to you all.

49513856/10550578 I should listen harder to my instincts, this spot to camp is terrible and damp. I’ll dry out tomorrow and choose more carefully. I should have known better though. Nice day but no tall stories for you though I’m afraid!! Xxx send me some love to get me through the damp night. xxx

” You will never guess who I have just met…

No-One! I am in East bloody Germany!!! Met a nice older man who doesn’t speak English but we got on. I’m in the mountains near Gersfeld, will text more soon xxx

Fantastic weather, t-shirt and jacket. Bought choc with nuts today, rode along road chewing, the nuts stuck in my teeth. Turns out they were flys nuts. Very good though, hope full of proteins.

In area where it’s snow covered for four months each year…still snow on the ground.

Love you all xxx

Hi Nigel,
here is the picture, taken on April 12th.
We met him by chance and first we were curious …. who is that man with so much luggage and two new spare tires on the bike?
Because we also travelled with motorcycle (KTM 990 Adventure) at so much countrys,
we were very excited as we here his plans about the trip to India and back.
Wish him good luck and a lot of fun.
Thank you very much for your answer.

51034013 07511663 (51 degrees 03′40.13″ north by 07 degrees 51′16.63″ east) are these working? Strange day of mixed thoughts today. Fantastic ride though. I’m near Koln and served by a beautiful girl who thinks I’m an old weirdo. Not sure where to go next but thinking south in preparation for moving into Prague next week. Xxx

This is harder than I thought! I’ll send some diary soon but no uploading of my sketches as I haven’t got hand eye coordination yet due to Shirleys VIBRATIONS XXXX

I’m in a place twenty km west of Koln called Olpe. Can’t eat french fries while riding with gloves on, so I took them off & stuffed french fries up my helmet. That worked but tongue action needs improving and helmet needs a wipe xxx
